Bethesda, Gwynedd (archive)

One year ago I was here in those fairy lands of Wales. It's interesting how at the moment I found no particular attraction for this photos, but today I find them a good plastic value. Time makes it better I suppose.
As for the place itself it is remarkably beautiful and quiet, I spent 3 relaxing days there, having the privilege of a sunny weather with almost no rain. The place has traditionally developed in slate quarrying, one can see slates everywhere around, mountains cut in half revealing it's tar-black core. The woods surrounding the area are keeping an archaic presence. Here and there stones are carved with Celtic inscriptions or strange witchcraft-like drawings.
Also check out this post from last May, it's the same story: abandoned church.
